About the Region

The Southeast Region consists of 87 congregations in 7 states, Barbados, Cuba and Puerto Rico. Our synagogues range in size from 10 families to over 2,000 families, from small, isolated communities to major metropolitan areas. In all nearly 40,000 families belong to affiliated Conservative congregations in our region.

We are committed to providing all of our congregations with a wide range of program and services. Leaders in our synagogues receive on an on-going basis, vital information, services, programs, ideas, networking opportunities, publications, educational materials and support for your activities.

Our region is a network of “synagogues of excellence”. Although we are spread out over a wide geographic area, we are proud of the closeness that has developed between our congregations and between our regional leadership and our synagogues. This closeness is an on-going process, one that must be continually nurtured. This web site is a new and vital part of that process, because it opens up the region to an even wider circle. It is my hope that you will become an active part of the Southeast Region, your congregation’s “extended family”.
